New kitchen is finally complete!

Here is our new  kitchen.  I love it!  We went about a month without a full functioning kitchen but it was worth it.  Adam & his dad removed the old cabinets, put the new ones in, moved plumbing around as the original sink was in the corner & it is now in front of the kitchen window.  Adam  & I did the tile backsplash.  It looks so nice and we are so happy with the outcome. Next project is finishing the basement!

Lots of news for the Makuley's

I can't believe its been since April that I posted on here!  We have had a lot of changes since then.

Adam got a new job in Springfield IL.  He moved here in September while the boys & I stayed in OH.  They had already started school and we had to sell our house.  Luckily the house sold after being on the market for only 2 weeks!  However, closing wasn't until 10/31 and closing on our new house was 11/7.  Adam moved into a 2 bedroom apartment with a 3 month lease.  Once we closed on our OH house the boys & I moved into the apartment in Springfield.  Thankfully, we only had to live there for about a week b/c it was a bit cramped.  We were initially looking for houses in a subdivision but Adam didn't like how close together the houses were so he wanted to look at houses with a few  acres.  Luckily again, we found a house we both loved and it had only been on the market for around a week.  I had been wanting a ranch and he was fine with that as long as it had a full basement.  We have 3.5 acres, about 1.5 is yard and the rest is woods.  It's in a small town of  about 3400 people and we are about 15 minutes outside of Springfield.  We absolutely love it.

The house was built in 1977 and we are the 3rd owners.  The couple who previously lived here were here for about 20 years.  Everything was/is outdated so we have done a lot already and there is more to  do.  One thing that  really aged the house is all the wallpaper.  We have removed wallpaper and painted in the master bedroom, dining room  & kitchen.  Adam put new a new light in the dining room and  new ceiling fans in all 3 bedrooms.  Next up is new kitchen cabinets.  We have picked out what  we want so just  need to order them.  Should be in by Christmas.  Two of the bathrooms need updates but they  are functional so those are on the list but not at the top of the list.  Adam plans to finish  the basement to add a bedroom, TV room, playroom and storage area.  We may put in a bathroom too, just depends.  It has been and will be a lot of work but once it's done and all updated it will be so worth it and look so nice.  It was great that we both looked at this house and saw the potential of what it could be.

The boys have adjusted really good to the new house & to their new school.  Caden is in pre-k and our new school district has the same set up as our previous district....pre-k is in the elementary.  Quinn gets on the bus at 7:15 and then Caden only goes in  the afternoon and gets on at 12:15.  They both ride the same bus home.  The building they are in is EC (early childhood), Pre-K, K & 1st grade. Quinn was very excited once we found there was a computer  lab and separate I-pad lab.

So, a big change  for all of us but we all have adjusted to our new house, school, town, etc.

It's been a while...

It's been quite a while since I posted!  What's new with us:

I'm back to work part-time, just Tuesdays & Thursdays, at the law firm I previously worked at.  I'm glad to be back.  The boys go to a babysitter in our neighborhood and her middle daughter is in Quinn's kindergarten class.

Boys are doing good in school.  They have both  had birthdays recently, Quinn turned 6 in March  and Caden turned 4 this month.  At Quinn's 6 year check  up he was 41 inches tall and 30 lbs.  He's not on the growth chart for weight & is barely on the chart for height at 1%.  Caden, on the other hand, is huge.  He was 43 inches tall and 40 lbs.  He's in about the 80th percentile for both height and weight.  This is the American growth chart.

Quinn is playing flag football for the 3rd time.  I think  we'll sign him up for t-ball in  June, for fall t-ball.  Caden has not yet played any sports.  Maybe in  the fall.  We do want to sign both boys up for swim lessons in  the summer.  They both love the water and are not afraid so learning to swim should be fun for them.

Here are  some pics from the last few months!
